about the author
Lisa Lynn Ramos-Eickenberg grew up in Attleboro, Massachusetts, with her two brothers and two sisters. She spent her school vacations with her grandparents in Aguas Buenas, Puerto Rico.
Her fondest memory is swinging on her Abuelo’s hammock, listening to him play his classical guitar, while Abuela cooked rice pudding and vanilla flan. Her favorite pastime is visiting exotic restaurants with her three daughters and reading mystery novels on a rainy day.
Since childhood, Lisa Lynn Ramos enjoyed sitting beside her mother and little sister watching mystery shows while eating Cracker Jacks, Bliss Brothers ice cream, and fresh wild blueberries from her Tio Jose’s backyard.
At an early age, she was determined to “be a detective when she grew up” in order to find her biological father. Throughout her school years, Ms. Ramos entered many Art competitions and advanced courses, hoping her father would read about her success in the local newspaper or by word-of-mouth. At the end of every year, she had received many awards. Her most memorable year was the fourth grade, the year she had received six awards and gift certificates to her favorite ice cream parlor as she posed for the local newspaper with a big smile. Since then, she has achieved many awards in the Arts and continues to strive for excellence.
When Ms. Ramos married, she maintained her maiden name, knowing that it was the only link her biological father had to find her when he was ready. She still carries her father’s name, hyphenated
She has contributed children’s articles to /Presencia/, a Spanish newspaper in Providence, served as a translator to over fourteen non-profit agencies and two housing authorities, taught English as a Second Language, and volunteered her time to assisting women and children in her community.

A recent visit to her hometown, Attleboro, is the inspiration for her novel /The Invincible Anita/.
